Project Background
Boracay Island is a world-renowned tourist destination known for its pristine beaches and vibrant hospitality industry. For a chain resort operating multiple properties across the island, providing seamless, high-quality, and secure internet connectivity is no longer a luxury but a critical operational necessity. A robust network supports guest satisfaction, enables modern smart services, ensures security through surveillance, and streamlines operational efficiency for management across all locations.
Requirement Identification
- Comprehensive Coverage: Ensure stable, high-speed Wi-Fi coverage in all guest rooms, suites, common areas (lobbies, pools, restaurants, spas), and back-office areas.
- High Density & Capacity: Support a large number of concurrent devices (smartphones, laptops, tablets, IoT devices) per AP, especially in common areas.
- Centralized Management: A cloud-based solution is essential for remotely managing and monitoring the network across all resort properties from a central headquarters, reducing the need for on-site IT staff at each location.
- Guest Authentication: comply with regulations and offer flexible authentication methods (SMS, Social Media, VIP Codes).
- Security & Reliability: Implement a secure network segmentation separating guest, operational, and payment networks. The equipment must be reliable and able to withstand a tropical coastal environment (high humidity, salt air).
- Scalability: The solution must easily scale to accommodate future expansion or increased bandwidth demands.
- Cost-Effectiveness: Provide a powerful solution with a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Topological Diagram
The following diagram illustrates the proposed network architecture for a single resort property, which can be replicated across the chain and managed centrally via Apollo CMS.
Diagram Explanation:
Internet & Core: The Foredge router connects to the ISP. It feeds into a powerful L3 core switch (S5700 series) which handles inter-VLAN routing and connects critical services.

Access Layer: L2 PoE Switches (AI1024G) are deployed in wiring closets on each floor/building to provide Power over Ethernet (PoE) to APs, IP phones, and cameras. Non-PoE switches connect other devices.
Wireless Coverage:
Guest Rooms: W60HAP Panel APs (Wi-Fi 6) are installed in each room, providing dedicated high-speed access and blending with room décor.
Public Areas: High-capacity Ceiling APs (W618HAP – Wi-Fi 6) are deployed in lobbies, restaurants, and pools to handle high user density.
Outdoor Areas: Ruggedized Outdoor APs (W668OHAP – Wi-Fi 6) cover pools, beaches, and gardens, built to withstand the environment.
Management: The entire network is monitored and configured via the cloud-based Apollo CMS platform.
Security: CCTV cameras are powered by PoE switches, and video is recorded on a local NVR.

Solution Features (Leveraging Foredge Strengths)
Centralized Cloud Management (Apollo CMS): The cornerstone of this solution. Manage the entire network for all chain resorts from a single dashboard. Features include:
Visualized Operation: Real-time topology and map views.
Agile Maintenance: One-click AP restart, detailed alarms via SMS/Email.
Simplified Operations: Automatic network acceptance reports.
Multi-Tenancy: Create different access levels for resort management and corporate IT.
Seamless and High-Performance Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 6 APs ensure guests experience high speeds, low latency, and excellent connectivity even in high-density areas.
Multi-Channel Access Authentication: Complies with regulations. Offers SMS authentication, social login, and member/voucher codes for guests, all configurable via Apollo.
Enhanced Security: Network segmentation (VLANs) isolates guest traffic from critical resort operations (check-in, payments, surveillance). AI VLAN and AI QoS features intelligently manage traffic.
High Reliability & Easy Deployment: Foredge switches feature AI PoE for automatic device detection and troubleshooting. Zero-touch configuration allows for quick deployment and reduces setup time.
Cost-Effective for Chain Operations: The centralized management model significantly reduces the need for dedicated IT staff at each resort location, lowering operational costs.
Conclusion
The proposed Foredge networking solution provides a comprehensive, secure, and highly manageable network infrastructure perfectly suited for a chain resort operation in Boracay. By leveraging the robust Apollo Cloud Management Platform, Wi-Fi 6 access points, and PoE switches with intelligent features, the resort chain can ensure an exceptional guest experience, achieve operational efficiency, and maintain a secure and reliable network across all properties. The solution is scalable, cost-effective, and designed to meet the specific challenges of the hospitality industry in a tropical environment.
