Changxindian Old Town is located outside the Fifth Ring Road in the southwest of Beijing and is 2.5 kilometers long from north to south. The Changxindian area has a long history and profound cultural heritage. There are many cultural relics, including 4 national-level cultural protection units, 2 district-level cultural protection units, and a renovated and rebuilt Catholic church. There are 35 houses and courtyards with good structural preservation and historical preservation value. In ancient times, Changxindian was an important route to Beijing. The starting point of the famous Imperial Road of Nine Provinces in history and the “February 7th” workers’ strike were all located here. In recent years, with the acceleration of urbanization, this old town with a long history has fallen into disrepair and gradually deteriorated. Traveling merchants and hawkers gather here, the population density around historical relics is too high, the infrastructure is backward, and safety hazards are prominent. Water accumulates every time there is a heavy rain. The residents have a strong desire to improve.
